#5 The Faith of a Mother- Finding new Research

I have such an amazing family; I have been blessed to be born into the church and I have so many good examples to look up to. While discovering what I should research I was drawn to the story of my great-great-grandmother's story, at least I always believed it to be her story first, but in reality the beginning of her story ended up being her mother's story.
This is Anna Britta Stomberg, my three-time great grandmother

I started reading her stories and her life and I was so impressed! Then looking at the faith she had that saved her daughter, it reminded me of my mother and her faith that saved me and my sister. So, I want to do my research on the mother-daughter relationship with emphasis on the mother's faith within the church. My research question is then: how does a mother's faith influence her children?  I feel good about this topic but I don't know how I would find the resources that I need in order to get my point across and be able to make it 8-10 pages. SOS!

  1. This sounds like a fascinating topic! Maybe something you include could be a case study of a mother and a daughter. You could apply the research that you find to this case study and analyze it in detail, which would definitely fill up a couple pages ;)

  3. I love your topic! I can't wait to see what you find. Something that just comes to mind thinking about your topic is Elder Holland's talk recently given in this past general conference about mothers. If I think of anything else I'll be sure to let you know!

  4. You could always talk about how a mother's faith influences different aspects of her children's lives. Like emotionally, physically, spiritually, mentally. That could cover a few different sections of this same topic, and I think if you look at each of those aspects separately then you'll be able find research easily!

  5. Great Topic! I think you might be able to find some stuff about a mother's faith in conference talks and maybe from other religions. You could also look into historical accounts of pioneers. There's great research there. - Rachel Tietjen

  6. That is soooo cool how you have a picture!! I saw it and immediately had to read about what you were researching about. Having a face that goes along with what you are writing will surely help you write 8-10 pages :) I also like what Lindsey said about emotionally, physically, spiritually, and mentally. I did that approach with an anthropology essay I wrote, and it was so easy to organize my paper.
